Social Support Service now available in Nepean area
Anglicare has recently begun establishing a new HACC funded social support program for those who are frail aged, younger people with a disability and their carers who are of a CALD background. The program provides services to clients living in the Penrith, Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury LGA’s. Social support can be provided one-to-one, either in the client’s home (e.g. friendly visiting) or in the community (e.g. taking the client shopping, going out for coffee etc). The program will also run small social groups for clients (transport to/from the group can be provided). Services will be provided by ANGLICARE support workers and volunteers. Melissa Easton is co-ordinating this program and currently taking referrals (from service providers or clients directly) for the CALD Social Support Program – referrals can be made directly to Melissa by phone 4731 8399 or email measton@anglicare.org.au.
